The San Rafael Swell has many sites to see and could keep you busy for years. Some other areas of interest are listed below.
Cedar Mountain Recreation Area
There is an overlook with sweeping views of the the surrounding country. There are picnic tables and toilets available. It is located in northern section of the San Rafael Swell area.
Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry
The Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry has the densest concentration of Jurassic dinosaur fossils ever
found. More than 12,000 individual bones have been found. This is a working quarry with ongoing
excavations. The area has a few short interpretive trails. There is a visitor center museum that is
open seasonally. You can see a complete Allosaurus on display as well as other fossils and exhibits. It
is located about 32 miles south of Price, Utah.
USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum
An accredited museum associated with the Utah State University College of Eastern Utah. Covering
paleontology and archaeology, it has dinosaur fossils and artifacts from the Fremont Culture found
right in the San Rafael Swell area, and is an important research and cultural institution. It is
located in Price, Utah.
A tough trail leads up Sid's mountain in the northern section of the Swell.
Head of Sinbad
Close to I-70 and full of interesting rock formations. There is also an old cabin, Swasey's Cabin, in the area as well.
